    • When the subject of “Giving” is raised, it evokes a variety of responses from us. The full spectrum of emotions from shame, because I want to give more but I can’t afford to; anger, because I already give so much; Joy, the cheerful giver, because I am blessed and want to give more. We are exhorted to give what is in our heart to give, not under compulsion. The Israelites, for all of their stubbornness, and sinful ways, when asked to provide gold, special materials to build the tabernacle, gave so much that they had to be told to stop. A couple of things to note. 1. You can’t ever out-give God. God loves a cheerful giver (2 Cor 9:7). 2. You can’t out-sin the grace of God. Through the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s grace is so abundant it washes us as white as snow.
