This whole experience called “Christianity” begins with God. It is His initiative, His grace, His love, His sacrifice, and His blessing that brings us into this new relationship. That’s the point of the first three chapters of Ephesians.

So, we’re in the family. Now what? How do we respond? What role do I play?

Paul uses the metaphor of changing clothes to answer those questions. It is a rather dramatic change. And there are some segments of the transformation under my control.

The Father designed the Church so that every follower of Jesus has a place. And every living Christian is needed to accomplish the job Jesus left for us. When we put our varied backgrounds, gifts and talents together, it works, amazingly!

The Resurrection of Jesus is the cornerstone of all we believe. It is our hope, because if Christ was not risen from the dead, there is no resurrection for us either. Our faith then is useless.

Based on the truth of what happened that first Easter, we look forward to Heaven and a new body, someday. That promise creates a longing in our hearts for what we don’t yet have.

But what about today, the here and now, the next couple of hours? And, how can we best let the world know we believe in the Resurrection?

Where is Heaven? Most of us would answer the question with “up there somewhere.” And we’d probably add “it’s where God is.” That’s a good answer, but there is more.

Though some believe Heaven is only a state of mind, the Bible teaches Heaven is a real place. The Heaven where believers go today is actually only temporary. When we get our new resurrected bodies, we will live in a Heaven that is permanent. And the location will change!

Other questions that come up include “What happens between now and then?” and “What about Hell?”

Easter is such a special time of year. The outdoors is filled with the sunshine, blooms, and growth of spring. Families gather and children enjoy egg hunts and candy. As Christians, we commemorate Easter and the death and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We pause to reflect and celebrate all that it means and represents – including the gift of eternal life.
We are happy that you have joined us today as we begin a journey where we will seek to find answers that can help us better understand Heaven. Whether you attend church regularly or intermittently, consider joining us for this important four-week series. We will address questions we all have about what we really know about Heaven. Is it even a real place? What does the Bible share with us? What actually happens when we die?

We hear about it a lot–from politicians, coaches, preachers, and leaders of companies. It seems most people long for it, but it is so elusive.

Frankly, we are skeptical when some group claims to have it. It is so fragile, perhaps superficial, and often just a feeling.

But the Bible is clear that unity in the church is absolutely essential! “One” is the theme of this passage. What really is it that we are supposed to guard so relentlessly?

Read the Weekend Program

It seems easy to fall into a rut as a Christian. We get comfortable with our routine. We tend to focus on our own issues. We get comfortable with our group of friends we see at church and forget that our mission in life is to introduce others to the love of Christ.

Here at Calvary our desire is to be a church that cares about the people outside the walls of the church. We desperately want every person in Muscatine to live in a love relationship with Jesus, but sometimes it’s difficult to know how to begin a conversation about our faith. Sometimes fear or complacency keeps us from ever sharing with the people we love most.

Our hope this weekend is to help equip every believer at Calvary to share Jesus without fear…so that our community will know Jesus.
