Womens Bible Studies – Spring 2010

SUNDAY

Wingin’ It
Leaders: Jennifer Kent (263-3198) and Sue Stalzer (263-1602)
Location: Commons, by the Cry Room
Time: 10:30-11:45 am

Many women attend Calvary by themselves. Whether you are single, separated, divorced, married to a guy who isn’t interested in church or married to someone who works somewhere else after the Sunday morning service, you’ll find a welcoming reception! Current study: A Woman’s Heart, God’s Dwelling Place, by Beth Moore.

Lamplighters
Leaders: Judy Kramer (264-8749)

Time: 10:30-11:45 am

If you are a believer who just wants to learn more of God’s Word, this group invites you to join in. The study has begun in Genesis, and is reading through the entire bible, verse by verse. Each week a few verses are read, meditated on and studied as God reveals Himself through the Holy Spirit by His Word.

M & M’s

Location: Cry Room, just off the Sanctuary
Time: 10:30-11:45 am

The group will begin a study of Life Principles on Feb 7th. This is a spiritually mature group with a hunger for God’s Word and a strong sense of fellowship with each other. Be prepared for more meat than milk.

Liberian Women
Leader: Darlene Mendoabor (288-9401)

This group of women are are studying Victory over Darkness, by Neil Anderson. This class will point you to the promises of God that will be your assurance of victory every day, no matter what darkness you face.

MONDAY

Stonecroft Bible Study
Leader: Jo Joiner (263-1365)

Time: 9:45-11:15 am

The Holy Spirit is living and active in the lives of believers everywhere, but many of us don’t know all the Bible has to say about this person of the Triune Godhead. This foundational study will help you know the Holy Spirit: who He is, what He does and how we can grow to enjoy the power of His presence in our lives at all times.

Jewels

Time: 9:30-11:30 am

Join these women for a study of A Woman of Beauty, by Dee Brestin, which looks at 1, 2, and 3 John. This group meets at each other’s homes each week, learning about God and His view of His daughters.

TUESDAY

Tuesday Morning Women’s Bible Study

Location: Chapel
Time: Grace 9:00-9:30 am ; Class 9:30-11:00 am

This group will begin a new 9-week inductive study of Ephesians on February 16. The inductive principles learned can be used for personal Bible study at home, anytime, benefiting anyone who joins the class. New women welcomed. Childcare will be provided, based on a cooperative effort of the participants, so bring your little ones with you!

Tuesday Evening Women’s Bible Study

This group is currently studying A Woman’s Heart, God’s Dwelling Place, by Beth Moore. This is an in-depth study of the tabernacle in the wilderness and its variety of meanings. Call for more information.

West Liberty Women

Current study is Believing God by Beth Moore. Through this study, Beth encourages women to deepen their own trust in God and receive a fresh word from Him.

WEDNESDAY

Wednesday Morning Bible Study

Time: 9:00 am

Currently, this group is doing a study 1st & 2nd Timothy and Titus. The commentary at hand is Do What You Have Heard, by Pete Sommer, bringing insight to the verse by verse study and discussion.

THURSDAY

Early Birds

Time: 6:00-7:30 am

This group is working through the book Just Walk Across the Room, by Bill Hybels, which takes you through the Scriptures in a way that reminds you how simple sharing your faith in Christ was meant to be.

Wilton Bible Study

Location: Home of Toni Ochiltree, 2923 110th Street, Wilton, IA (573-732-3601)
Time: 6:15–8:30 pm

This is a relatively new group, mostly living in Wilton and ready to dig into God’s Word. A new study is scheduled to begin in mid-February and women are welcomed to participate. Call for more information.

Thursday Evening Bible Study

Location: Home of Grace Ann Boynton, 607 Woodlawn, Muscatine, IA (263-8413)
Time: 6:45-8:30 pm

This group meets at the home of Grace Ann Boynton each week to enjoy discipleship and friendship. Come help them choose the next study!

SATURDAY

Worship and Prayer
Leader: Darlene Mendoabor (288-9401)
Location: Members’ homes
Time: 6:30 pm

The Liberian women at Calvary have had an amazing impact on the perception of worship and prayer. Come experience the passionate worship, prayer and exhortation at each meeting. This time is hosted by a different member every month, and the women take turns leading.
