Haiti Relief

You have seen the massive destruction in Haiti brought by the earthquake earlier this week. We hear the reports of people who have lost access to the most basic needs of life. I shudder to think of what the loss of life might total.

Many have asked, “What can we do?” We are calling on everyone to pray for the people of Haiti. We also want to support the relief efforts financially. We will receive offerings for Haiti which will go through Missions Door and their Haiti Relief Fund. They have been one of Calvary’s partner agencies for over 40 years, and we support eight missionaries (none in Haiti) from that organization. They have had an effective ministry in Haiti for many years, led by indigenous Haitian missionaries. The team (two couples and one single) there are alive but shaken. Two more Missions Door staff people are headed that direction this week.

Checks can be made out to “Calvary Church” with “Haiti” in the memo line and deposited in our regular offering during the worship service. You may also give online by following the link posted at the bottom of this page. We will support this effort with a significant gift from our missions budget. Pray about it and be involved!

What an appropriate way to “unleash relentless love to our broken world!” I’ll see you this weekend!

Your Teammate,
Dan
