Our celebration this weekend is called–communion, Lord’s Supper, Lord’s Table, eucharist. The Bible calls it a picture of a “new covenant” (1 Corinthians 11:25).

What is a covenant? How can we make deals with God? What happens if we don’t live up to our end? What does God really expect from us?

One of the more obscure books in the Bible, Hosea, graphically pictures that covenant relationship between God and his people when it goes bad–faithful husband and unfaithful wife, faithful father and unfaithful child. It will challenge and comfort us as we review the terms of the covenant.
